I walk past this hedge regularly and have never considered it to be obstructing the footpath

Benefits of the hedge to wildlife and nesting birds far out way concerns re obstruction! Thought councils were keen to promote and protect our environment. Hedge has existed for many years! Total over reaction!

Great security for a family who have children. Adds as a level of security for opportunists. A beautiful example of a well kept hedge.....looks beautiful and his home to a variety of wildlife

The hedge is great! Please leave it alone! I used to live almost opposite it on Randall Road - it is an asset to the area.

We have lived opposite this hedge for almost 30 years and it it’s a great addition to our neighbourhood. We have lots of garden birds that nest in the hedge and it’s a habit for other wildlife. The hedge is not obstructing the pathway and you can easily walk along the path (I know this as I walk along here every evening). It would be a great shame for the hedge to be cut down and I implore the council to reconsider their request. Save the hedge!

We live in Queens Road and have seen this hedge for over 30 years. If cutting this hedge back to the boundary would kill the hedge , this would be a sin. It would change the traditional look of this area. It is the first thing people see when driving to Queens Road and Randall Road. Eastleigh council have purported to be environmentally friendly this goes against all their boasts about caring for the environment and is a backward step.

The hedge is a valuable part of the visual landscape of the area and removing it will remove important habitat for the local wildlife

This hedge has always been maintained very well - we have lived opposite for 30 years & consider it an asset & home to to lots of birds - such a shame if it has ti come down and we have never noticed any problems whatsoever with access

It’s a lovely hedge and is always kept tidy by the owners and it doesn’t affect the highway or pavement. It is also great to look out on instead of an ugly fence which would spoil the road.

Anything that might jeopardize the integrity of the hedge must be avoided: for the sake of the biodiversity it supports and the aesthetic of the neighborhood.
