Far too many hedges have vanished from our towns and countryside. With Hedgehogs being severely threatened by loss of habitat, not to mention nesting and roosting birds. The habitat is more important than people's ability to traverse the hedge, they can cross the road if needed, saving the hedge and its wildlife

Wildlife is in massive decline in the UK. We need trees and hedges more than ever. Why can't alternatives be looked at to retain the hedge. Councils are meant to be protecting wildlife not helping to destroy it.

Another council over the top decision, when are they going to learn to get on with things that matter in are community cutting of services , people’s safety during the day and at night , get real !!!!!

I have lived in Queens for 25 years and absolutely love the hedge. It adds to the character of the street and it has always been well maintained. The hedge has never been a hindrance to me walking on the pavement and I cannot understand why suddenly this is being raised as a concern. Cutting it any further would probably kill it and would diminish the aesthetic appeal of the area, as well as negatively affect the wildlife.

Councils should be encouraging people to green up their gardens instead of allowing them to turn them into concrete wastelands. Perhaps they could introduce garden tax and fine all who have done this to cover costs of widening pavement. From what I can see they is plenty of room and not required.

I have lived in the area for many years now. I don’t see that the hedge has or currently poses any risk or problem to the footpath. It feels unnecessary and costly to cut the hedge back.

This is a wonderful hedge, particularly is in keeping with the area, well maintained and leaves public roads and pathways fully accessible.
I have recently experienced a large hedge cut back in the village of Wellow. This was instructed by the council. The hedge has not faired well and I would go as far as to say this is vandalism that the council are wanting to commit.

Having lived in Randall Road for over 10 years, the hedge has always been maintained, kept neat and tidy and forms a great view when entering Randall Rd via Queens Road.
It no doubt provides security for the property as well as supporting local wildlife.
