(Save OUR Fish) Cormorant Population Control needed throughout the U.S.

I have watched Drummond Island lose their fishing as well as ruin other islands in the area. Les Chenaux Island area lost all of their fishing revenue to the Cormorants. I frequently go to Mackinac Island and at one time you couldn’t see the breakwater for the Cormorants. That changed drastically for a few years but I noticed in 2019, they’re back. They must be controlled...they eat thousands of pounds of fish a day. I totally agree with this petition

Time to cull!

Our fishery cannot take the harvesting of bait fish or any other fish in the Great Lakes that these birds pray on.

Please make it legal to rid the great lakes of these coomerant birds. Commorants are not native and are destroying a lifestyle of fishing on the great lakes.

I received word that the article that Mary Drier wrote a local news reporter in the Thumb has been widely distributed to a lot of local community newspapers and radio stations. So that is promising news, and I will reach out to a few others that I know as well. This is a countrywide issue now, so don't hesitate posting or to send this all over the place. We need to keep these numbers managed. The amount of money that fishermen bring into the state of Michigan help many families survive. If we loose the fish we will loose fisherman. I think we could created a " Cormorant stamp" and controling them would fund itself and create more revenue.

Please create allocate funding and additional measures to control Commorant populations around the Great Lakes.

I've personally watched this bird species's population explode I'm the last few years on lake. Erie it's having a direct impact (I'm combination with net trawlers) on yellow perch numbers in the entire lake. This bird will destroy our fishery if we don't stop them now.

I think we need to control the population because of the resource of fish and the visitors from other states

Please allow commerant control. I live on the Saginaw Bay in Au Great, we see thousands of them eating all the baitfish, yearlings and perch every year.

Yes, please control the cormorant and the resulting reduction of the fish populations in northern Lake Michigan and Huron as well as the inland lakes of northern Michigan.

Please allow us to eradicate this invasive species

Saginaw Bay has been totally decimate by thousands of cormorants which were rarely seen fifty years ago. Many of the small towns and businesses along Saginaw Bay are severely affected financially .

Please save the fish in the great lakes and surrounding lakes! This would be a better use of our state's time versus further regulation of our state's fishing boats.

Keep them out of the Ausable River.
