Been surf fishing and watch 1000s of these birds(over a mile long) flying north. They can devistate a fishery!

At Sugar island in the U.P. cormorants destroyed the perch populations in 1998-1999. These birds are resurging again. This destructive bird population has to be halted.

Check out the islands the roost on,all vegation is dead,plus they eat 1 lb of fish per day.Way too many.IMO

The state of Michigan is in serious need of cormorant population control. These birds have no natural predators in and around Michigans great lakes waters and they have grown to population numbers that are simply out of control and it is time that we do something about it. Place a specific number on how many need to be taken out of that population and reach that number. Then lets do another study on that specific population and take it from there. But if left unchecked, these birds will eat themselves as well as us out of our entire fishery.

There are way too many when we hunt waterfowl in the air. This happens in pool18 of the Mississippi river.

They birds harm the balance of the ecosystem. They have very few natural predators and are reproducing unchecked. Open a hunting season for them.

I live in Manistee and in the fall our flock on lake Manistee was over 100 birds. We need to get rid of a ton of these birds.

My family has been fishing in Centerville mi for a long time and we have noticed a huge decline in perch numbers and have seen these birds eat on schools of fish for days at a time we need to lower there numbers
