My children would spend hours playing rounders and sledging in the winter, and now they have children of there own , history carries on.

I often walk my dog on this field. What with building on the fields at Rake lane and all the green fields quickly disappearing soon there will be no where for the children to play and no where to walk dogs. It is a tragedy in the making.

we routinely walk across the field to cut through to Marden with the dog and to be honest this year I have seen the cricket team playing twice. We mainly see local population using it; dog walkers / kids and families playing games and often a dance club practising. Surely they can continue to rub along with the local population and share the green space. It will only be a matter of years before Murton Fields are a huge housing estate so all more important to protect these smaller accessible areas now. Also, I've never seen any signage to say this is private ground - who actually owns and maintains it?

This field should be left as it is for all to enjoy. We are losing too many green fields

I am very strongly against a fence being erected on this field. I use this field regularly as I live very close and it is lovely to be able to go and watch the cricket. There is no need to fence this off as no one interferes with the people playing cricket. It would also be an eyesore. Please don’t spoil a lovely field that people, families, children use all times of year.

The field is my kids go to place for practising football and it's conveniently located. It would be a loss to the community as a lot of people around Whitley bay used this open space. I protest the application put forward by the cricket club.

This field has been used by local families and children for years. Why fence it off and deny the area for Play and recreation all year round, for a handful of cricket games annually??

What a ridiculous thing to suggest , fencing off a field which has been and still being used by residents in the surrounding area ! It is a place where , in the winter both adults and children enjoy sledging, is this something else that’s going to be taken away from children so they can wander the streets even more !
