Save our Doctors surgery

I've had to use this doctors surgery as I haven't been able to get up to county Oak due to a broken ankle...I found it really helpful and made my life less troublesome..coldean need this surgery for the less fortunate.

The NHS was founded to provide accessible health care. This change has been executed without proper consultation , and is therefore, in breach of statutory obligations

Having lived in Coldean all my life ( 64 years) it will be a disaster if we lose the Larchwood surgery. It’s always Coldean... not like there is much else here as it it.

The larchwood staff are great., its a shame that the nurse practioner who left last year was not replaced.

I, like many residents of Coldean, feel abandoned by the Surgery.There will be insufficient medical care for those who cannot easily attend the main surgery.

Don’t take another service away from Coldean. We’ve already lost the Post Office.

This is not my Surgery, but I may need it in the future,Coldean has little enough amenities as it is without taking the Surgery away.

I used to use this surgery and they're exquisite

We really need the surgery in Coldean as in this community we have many elder people who cannot travel. They are very helpful and they always help us when we needed them

I & many are absolutely devastated by this news & honestly don't know how anyone unwell will manage to get over to Hollingbury unless they have transport (I think it's absolutely ridiculous when there are so many measures in place to encourage people to not use the roads) Many people will be way too poorly to be stood amongst others for lengths of time (Coldean has for years had an extremely unreliable bus service!) in blazing heat, pouring rain, winds & freezing temperatures, all prolonging any problems, breathing, temperatures, pain etc, or like myself who suffers GAD, anyone with MH illness who will undoubtedly feel exposed, triggered & suffer immensely, with panic attacks & physical sickness will find it impossible to stand at bus stops & I can't travel on buses. My husband already has so much to shoulder with the main things that ever see me needing the GP's care & support but to add to that pressure, him being able to physically, logistically & financially leave work, time to drive back, get me to Carden, wait & take me home is causing him stress & myself overwhelming guilt & anxiety. We have/had a lovely surgery, welcoming receptionists & a reliable, greatly needed & appreciated service at New Larchwood, I feel so sorry for all the loyal residents, the elderly, the infirm, the families, the community everyone, especially at a time when things have been extremely difficult.

I want to reiterate my wife's comment, being that for us personally this huge reduction in opening hours & no doubt immanent closure of the surgery. All of which we were never officially/politely informed, only via a local social media group. My wife suffers from GAD, especially social anxiety & agoraphobic tendencies as part of her bipolar & MH issues. She finds it almost impossible to leave the house unaccompanied but has managed with difficulty to walk the 2 minutes from our house to the surgery. She can't drive during depressive or heightened moments of anxiety. I already have to leave work & come to take her for nurse, bloods, asthma reviews at Carden surgery since Angela left & we weren't given a replacement nurse. Now we are faced with the logical, financial implications of me being able to try to leave work, get back from any given Sx area & take my wife to much needed appointments. She cannot travel on public transport! Its prosperous in this day & age that a local community will be loosing a much needed service & have to use vehicles & fuel to attend appointments & even drop repeat prescriptions, yes New Larchwood is open briefly each week but unless people catch those days to put in requests they will be waiting way longer than the 48 hours due to GPS not receiving them.

This is a vital service with already very poor opening hours.

I need access to new larchwood surgery because I don’t have a car and I have two small children. We need this surgery.

Really need this, we are old and not all who live at New Larchwood are able use new technology

We have had a surgery here in Coldean ever since I came here (1962). We now have the new Flats proposed with hundreds of more people. Surely we need a surgery now more than ever.

I am totally disgusted that this community will have almost no facilities to consult a GP. I have lived in Coldean for almost 70 years and have never experienced such a lack of consideration for its residents. Bear in mind, also, the addition of the new housing estate currently being constructed which, without a doubt, create many new patients! Fuming!

It’s lovely to have a surgery it’s been here for more than 50 years. Why now?
