​Save our derby track! Petition to convert approved pickleball courts into a shared-use space​

Specializing the space to only pickleball serves to exclude and abolish an existing LGBTQ+ space. There is no reason this space cannot be shared.

Please keep this as a multi use space

Pickle ball is a versatile sport that can be played in a variety of spaces. Hockey and Roller Derby have extremely limited spaces for them to play, do not remove our access to a needed space for our sports! We need rinks like this one, or our sport will be pushed out of existence.

There are plenty of pickleball courts. Leave room for other things like Durby.

There are so many pickle ball courts it’s crazy. Keep roller derby forever. !!!!

Please do not elbow out South Coast Roller Derby. Derby teams have been losing space rapidly and widely to pickleball. Rink space is extremely hard to come by. Please preserve space for roller derby.

Let roller derby live!!

We don’t need more pickleball courts, we need to keep variety and availability for sports otherwise you end up with everyone playing the same two sports which ultimately pushed people, especially kids out of athletics

Demolishing the rink to create pickleball courts excludes people who have been using the rink for many years. A shared space allows for current and future users to have a place.

Roller derby is an amazing sport do not demolish the track

Pickleball players already have an extensive amount of courts to choose from and do not also need this space for their sport. Roller Derby should be allowed to continue playing their sport without being taken over by pickleball just because it’s “trendy” right now. This is tacky.

There are enough areas for pickleball but not enough areas for skating!!

Roller derby deserves space too. Roll on!

It's ridiculous to think that we would oust a team that has been established for years for a ridiculous trendy game that won't last. Keep the track a track!

Keep the roller derby area! Pickle ball courts are everywhere already. Having roller derby is unique to the city.

During a time in history when diversity is being squashed, I hope the city of Laguna Hills will make the right decision to support this unique sport and unique group of athletes. Pickleball courts are a dime a dozen, and are likely to be a passing fad. Our communities need to continue to support diversity in sports and an athletes.

The derby community would love to share a space rather than get kicked out. Please let us keep the track. Pickle ballers can have a track anywhere or share with tennis courts yeah?

Pickleball can and HAS BEEN co-existing with Roller Derby and any hockey activity at this hockey rink. No reason to change that!
