The Compton playground is one of the few components that keeps a sense of community in Compton. The village is spread out along a long and busy road , the B3000. The only place people come together is at the playground and village green. There is nothing else for children and families and I believe it’s imperative that preserving and maintaining the playground is a priority. When my son was younger we used it at least 2/3 times a week.

The basketball court (and hoop) should be updated/reinstated to allow for additional options for children to take part in a healthy and active lifestyle.

It makes no sense at all for the removal of a sporting amenity for the older children. We talk about the evils of social media for them so we should encourage healthy activities .

It would be amazing if they would resurface the court, so it can be used for other things too! If this gets turned into car parking, then it will be constantly full of giggleville customers!

A big yes to the basketball court and a hard no to the car park. I don’t see there is an issue with parking on Spiceall and it’s the only area of the green that provides any shade in the summer months. There was a family picnicking there just this afternoon and there are plenty of parking spaces available on the east side of Spiceall.

Such a shame the only basketball post was taken down and no plan to replace.

We should not be encouraging more cars to park in the village, especially on the village green where children play. The older kids would love the basketball hoop reinstated.

My grandchildren loved the basket ball hoop. Why was it removed. Putting a car park on a village green is just dumb and smacks of incompetence. These people who are proposing this aren't fit for purpose
