Have enjoyed many evenings in the Claregate. Would be a total loss to Wolverhampton to lose such a long standing and still popular pub

It needs a refurb not demolition.

This pub is a lovely little part of the local area. The staff are friendly and helpful. On top of that it turns a profit!

The area needs more pubs to build a sense of community not less.

The Claregate is a great community pub. It would be a travesty to lose it to yet another cheaply designed housing estate. It is a great business opportunity if only the correct investment was made.

I sincerely hope this Landmark does not get demolished for more housing.Surely the brewery cannot need the money that much!!

I like the Claregate because I have gone there ever since I moved here 6 years ago. I don't want it to shut because I luv going there with my family and me and my family have a lot of memories there and it would be sad to not be able to go there anymore.

We've also had a battle with trying to stop Marstons / New River Retail bulldozing half of the Harrowby Arms to turn it in to a Co-Op. We've had the help of 2 fab local councillors and had numerous letters and features about it all in the Express and Star. The latest twist was that we got an "Asset of Community Value" (ACV) lodged which will slow any plans down. It's criminal how many pubs are closing these days. Good Luck!!!

The pub trade everywhere has been butchered by past government illogical, minority-held viewpoints and resultant policies. Time to call a halt.

i grew up in the area, and have many fond memories of playing in the the beer garden. As an adult I have continued to visit, it's a great place, with a good atmosphere. It's a meeting place for many around the area and it is a shame that part of the community is threatened.

Have seen so many public houses closed down but when this is a well known and popular family pub surely it must stay . Having lived in this area for 23 yrs i think there are enough houses already .

Another attempt at destroying our area for financial gain.
