I've drank in this pub for nearly 30 years. My dad drank in there well before me. It would be a massive loss for our local community. SAVE OUR PUB

Nice food and chilled surroundings need to be kept for us all to enjoy no more derelict pubs,this is a nice bit of architecture.

My wife and myself together with a couple also camra members, enjoy a sunday lunchtime visit to a pub around our region, what we dont need is less choices on our travels!

The pub is a welcome addition, providing a necessary break to the suburban sprawl around it, situated opposite the park it serves families well. To demolish this remarkable stately building would be very sad. The architecture is eye catching, the more you study it the grander was the vision of those who first designed it, as a meeting place for the community that it serves. Today so many of these communal meeting places are being lost, forcing families to out of town faceless restaurants and pubs built in anonymous locations. 31 pubs a week are shut across the country, in this area alone in the last few years the following have shut: The Mitre, Shoulder of Mutton, The Halfway House, Bird in Hand. If this closes individuals will feel ever more marginalised, resulting in an increasingly polarised and disenfranchised society.

This pub is part of my history as in the late 60's and early 70's I played football for Claregate FC and the pub, (then the Fieldhouse), was our HQ. Please don't let it be another statistic of pub closures, there are enough already. It serves a thriving pub going area and is a valuable asset to the local community. Leave it alone!!
