It's not the pub... Couldn't really give a fuck, it's for the people that go there

Why do they need more houses - there's plenty up for sale in the area. It's getting to the point where there won't be a pub in the area

A shocking decision. This pub is at the heart of the community,it must not be sold for housing.A very poor decision by Marstons

this pub should never be demolished they can't just keep knocking our pubs down for houses if we didnt have so many imogrants we wouldnt need more houses. Marsden brewery you have enough money you don't need to do this

Dont do this, there is so much of Wolverhampton disappearing. There must be land elsewhere for a housiong project ? Everybody I know has a history with the pub. All of us young and old - converge on the pub and start buying. When the profits go up, they will think again.

Losing this pub would be a loss to the local area. It needs investment not abandonment.

if Marstons want to sell of a pub get rid of the Grottesley Arms in Perton. Wouldn't be missed, unlike the Claregate

A great, local, family friendly pub as well as a major local landmark. Invest in a refurbishment and I am sure Marstons will reap the rewards.

Marstons should be ashamed. As if it wasn't ridiculous enough to build a shop on the car park of this lovely pub, you now want to demolish it and build some matchbox-style houses??? NO WAY

The Claregate would be greatly missed by many in the community. We didn't need the tesco and we don't need houses. We need a local, family friendly pub. Marstons shouldn't be allowed to invest in new pubs and demolish historic old ones and sell off the land to fund it.

Apart of my youth and memories to be bulldozed for housing development perhaps should bulldoze the ceo of Marston house and build houses on that.

there are a lot of local people who already use this pub and if they give it the same treatment that the oddfellows in Compton is getting then a hell of a lot more will use it too. Other than the Crown at Wergs (which is ridiculously expensive) the only "nice" place to go for a drink is the dog and gun the other pubs are just too chavy. There's is a massive audience of AB demographic people around the area that would fill this place if it was a little more upmarket.
