This is an absolute disgrace- if we keep selling our history off to builders there will be nothing for our community our future to look back at!! The way it's going it will just be house upon house everywhere. It's getting beyond a joke . This should not be aloud to happen !

The pub is iconic and is the focal point and charm of the area. Its beautiful looking (not run down) and is part of our history. So why try and fix something that is not broken?

I remember when you couldn't get to the bar for so many people at the Claregate. I remember roaring fires in the little rooms when it was the Fieldhouse where all ages mixed and chatted together. We had some great nights when the hypnotist, the Umpah band and discos were on. I agree with everyone else that the staff are always very friendly and nothing's too much trouble. Smarten it up and it could be great again. The plan was obvious from the start when Tesco was built we knew it wouldn't be long before the pub went.
