SAVE OUR CHURCH, In 2010 the parishioners of St. Nikola Church purchased the property at 4301 Prairie Ave, Brookfield, IL and moved the parish from the Chicago location to Brookfield, IL. This was supported by ALL of the church boards, clergy and parishioners. This property has been paid off and now the City of Brookfield has approved building a church. Currently the new parish priest and some church board members want to partition this property and sell it. Please sign this petition if you want to SAVE our CHURCH and stay at the current property!

im honestly blown away by how many people are stepping up to keep our church right where it belongs. seeing everyone come together like this means the world to those of us who fought to build this place.

Grad je odobrio planove za gradnju, mi imamo ljubav, veru i nadu, slozimo se vecinski kao sto ovde imamo u vidu, i ostavimo deci u amanet novu SRPSKU crkvu kao sto su nasi stari nama. Nadjimo nacin da usput obnovimo temelje crkvenog pravilnika i da buduca uprava predstavlja glas svih parohijana, a ne glas samoizglasane manjine. Uzdravlje!
This church has been my home for over 12 years. I am forever grateful for the people it has brought into my life. We are truly a happy family within our home in Brookfield. Keeping the church in Brookfield and continuing on with the plans of rebuilding IN BROOKFIELD is extremely important to not only my family but to many others.
St. Nikola was my first church in the United States fifty one years ago when I migrated to this country with my parents and brother. I am in favor of keeping our current church where it is. We should build our new church on the current property as was planned.
This is important for the community and allows a safe space to practice and worship. The cultural needs of the community members needs to be put before monetary greed.
I’m signing this petition because major decisions such as buying/selling and moving the church should be discussed with a the larger group of members and parishioners. These actions are Incredibly disrespectful and likely unlawful decision making/execution by the board and current priest. No transparency on funding, cost, liabilities or strategy shared with the greater community. A real disappointment and a poor example of what is expected of church leaders.

Sveti nikola is an important part of our serbian community. My kids are 3 and I have dreamt for them to get of age to begin dancing there. I wish they would begin schooling there too like k-8. Keep.open for the sake of our people and future generations.
