Save Our Choice: Protect Self-Directed Supports in Missouri

This is important for caregivers who are doing a good job for vulnerable.

We use Self directed services for our 18 year old son who has graduated from Highschool. He requires constant supervision and we would not be able to provide that without self directed supports.

Please do not make things more difficult for people with disabilities and their caregivers. This legislation needs to be halted.

Thi is the right way.

Please you cannot do this to the beautiful individuals who are already in such a difficult position. They cannot all advised for themselves but we are here to be their voice!

Please protect caregivers and those who cannot protect themselves

I have witnessed opportunities where the current system failed and death occurred this population has worth they do give to the people who serve them and their families, they help others listen better, open their hearts and learn what it means to put someone else first by learning to serve. Our society would be at a loss without these services. Please have mercy and continue to use our money to support the Developmental Disability Services, we can use funds wiser and cut the red tape.

The special needs spectrum is extremely wide and incomprehensibly demanding; no two people have the same needs. Yet government officials are constantly trying to "help" by applying a one-sixe-fits-all band-aids to supposedly cover everyone's needs. All this does is push the special needs community further into a forgotten corner without addressing the actual needs. If benefits policy needs to change, start with those who don't need it to survive.

Save our kids!

Please don’t stop this program. We need it for our son..

These services are very important to individuals with disabilities and their families. Without these services it would make it hard if not impossible for parents to work. These services help individuals be more independent, work on social skills, gets them out into the community and so much more. Its more than just saving a few dollars.

Keep funding!!

We already have trouble finding qualified consistent staff. This makes it much harder and we will loose many current staff members over this!

It is incredibly hard to fine quality care for our disabled child. These cuts will make it that much harder.

My great-niece is almost 20 years old. She was born @ 25 weeks gestation. She is deaf, blind and has the mental capacity of 2nd grader. She lives with her father. Her mother left her 5 years ago and moved to South Carolina. She lost her maternal grandparents whom raised her when she was with her mother half time. She has experienced so much loss that taking away her current caregivers would be so traumatic for her. She deserves to live her best life at home with the caregivers that show her love. These children deserve to be at home and not institutionalized. Do not cut funding.

This will hurt alot of families already struggling with hardships that most people can not possibly understand. It will break alot of families apart and increase the cost to the state for residential care and institutional settings.

We need more services for autism adhd asburgers and other conditions not less we need to heal the youth to heal the future .

We cannot afford to lose the care my son receives. Budget cuts will reduce pay, which in turn will cause good caregivers to look elsewhere leaving not only our family but all families in financial, emotional, and mental binds. It is hard to find caregivers now, let alone if pay is cut. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN TO OUR MOST VULNERABLE!!

My wife and I will do whatever we can to help out! This proposal is completely unacceptable!
