My wheelchair bound mother will be without this essential benefit should it get cut! I am just speechless.

Sds has been what has kept several of my friends and family out of facility care. Has anyone added up the cost for the care that these people will require. Currently friends or family are being paid for 8 hours at max of care per day, while giving care 24/7. It will cost more in the end to stop fully funding sds

I know of a few different young adults with disabilities who stand to loose a lot, along with their families if these budget cuts take place. Remember, what you do for the least of these ….

This is a much needed program. It will be much more expensive for the state to pay for individuals in nursing facilities through Medicaid than to keep them at home being cared for by loved ones. Plus keeping them at home will greatly reduce the chance of them being neglected or abused by inconsiderate workers.

Once again, it is unconscionable that our politicians want to remove services for the most vulnerable in our community. When is this going to stop?

People should be paid for the work they do. Being a caregiver is extremely important and it's also physically and emotionally demanding.

Cutting services that allow people with disabilities to live full lives in the community is not only cruel, it is more expensive in the long run because they will need to go into institutions. Shame on Missouri.

These are life saving supports you’re trying to cut. Take care of all kids. This shouldn’t be up for any debate but here we are.

Often there is no one else but the parents available to fulfill the roles of designated rep, POA or guardian, and caregiver. Case managers are already visiting the home to ensure compliance and safety for the disabled person. Restrictions proposed would make these situations, which are already hanging on by a thread, impossible.
