Our family is being affected by this!! It so so sad! That they think individuals with Disabilities don't deserve the best care available to them!

My daughter was born with no cerebellum, deaf , legally blind , intellectually behind . I am a single dad . I have to work to keep a roof over our head . I need these two caregivers that my daughter has to achieve these goals . These 2 people are amazing . Not only do they teach my daughter the things listed on her ISP but truly love her . They are able to calm her down when she has her meltdowns which consist of hitting , kicking , spitting , .Alexis has lost many people in her life in the last couple of years . A grandmother a grandfather, her mom , her sister and brother and two Aunts . She can’t endure 2 more . The people she has taking care of her and had given her stability . I want to keep my daughter at home with me and not institutionalize her because of these cuts .her caregivers are both single moms who will not be able to pay their bills if this budget cut goes thru .Alexis will lose them and have another loss in her life . I am begging you to please give these children dignity and the safeness feeling at home . Thank you

Why take money away from people that need it? This helps people with disabilities. Take the money away from politicians pay. Let's stop paying them so much and give back to the people.

It's a shame that the people who govern us want to institutionalize the most vulnerable in our communities, and it's clear that none that govern have been affected by disability and the abuse that typically follows group homes. If these individuals have caregivers who are willing and able to provide 24/7/365 care, then leave them with said caregiver and give the caregiver the funds to have a living wage!
