My cousin and my aunt will be affected by this. A Family member, caretaker, loved ones should get PAID, to help a loved one with care, with grocery shopping, with drs appointment. No one should ever not being able to have their family member, close friend or any else not be able to them with out. My cousin is so sweet and loved by so many. This just tears my heart.

This would be such a blow to people with disabilities. This would also cost the state more in the long run.

GOVERNOR KEHOE: MY FRIENDS’ SON’S INDEPENDENCE IS NOT A BUDGET CUT!
I personally know and love two people who have autistically challenged sons.
Your proposed changes to 9 CSR 45-3.080 are threatening the very services that keep them safe and active in our communities.
They are not just files on a desk. They are Missouri families.
Governor Kehoe, we are the “Show Me” state. Show us that you value our children more than a budget surplus.

It is imperative for individuals and families receiving SDS to keep these invaluable services. It allows choice and options for individuals with their care. It is more cost effective than group homes, nursing homes, assited living, and ISL homes. These services need to be protected. Thank you

Self Directed Care allows those with disabilities to stay in their homes with people who have e their best interest at heart. Agency care is riddled with turnover and is unreliable. Do not target the most vulnerable individuals to “save money” Self Directed Care saves the state money by keeping individuals out of institutions. There are so many able people that abuse disability services, perhaps you the focus should be on reducing fraud.

I am the primary caretaker of my adult sister with disabilities and budget cuts or reduction of SDS services for her would have a detrimental impact on her life.

Please maintain funding for the critical services needed for the most vulnerable citizens of Missouri. These services prevent institutionalization and allow the individual to be cared for by the people who know and love them the most, and for the individual to make the choices that provide a self-determined life. A consistent and healthy workforce is necessary for the well-being of individuals with disabilities. Personal attendants already work without access to benefits of any kind. A pay cut would be ruinous to the personal attendants, the individual, and employed family members who rely on these services to keep their loved ones safe while they are working and actively contributing to the economy. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about this excellent and fiscally superior system of service provision.

I did not vote, as a fiscal conservative, for cuts to our most vulnerable population. I have an adult son that uses SDS and it’s critical for him to live a dignified life.

I know Pati and her daughters, they would suffer immensely if this bill were to pass. Let's keep her family and other families like hers together.

My baby cousin relies on this service and it would impact his family negatively if they started taking from the budget and making the services harder to use.
