They’re doing a great job here, helping those who are less able, we all need to think about this as a community

Swimming is an important life skill that should be affordable and accessible to all; not something that is treated as a luxury that can be discarded.

My children are happy and confident in a pool now thanks to Anita and the other fantastic teachers! I feel so sad for other children who might miss out on the positive introduction to swimming my two boys were given.p

As Kirklees make a parent go in the pool with young children learning to swim, this was literally the only place I could take my three as a single parent. The staff are brilliant. They also helped me to learn new swimming skills. We are gutted this has happened to Anita and her swim school.

So many people use this club, it is wrong to take a much needed resource away

Really need to keep valuable resources like this open for children, otherwise lots may end up on the street corners with nothing to do.

I despair, you want children to be active and not glued to iPads and games consoles all day then take away a valuable asset

Encouraging children from a young age to be active every day creates good habits that will set them up for life. Keeping children active isn’t all about merely keeping them entertained. Active children are healthy children, and not just physically. Exercising and being active is just as healthy for the mind as it is for the body. It also creates an opportunity for children to further develop their social skills, by interacting with other children on aregular basis in a fun environment. If children are enjoying what they are doing, then they will be happy to be active doing it.
