I boast about how excellent my training was at Children’s Mercy. You will not meet a resident who didn’t enjoy their PICU rotations because of the outstanding PICU physicians within its walls. Training matters, and settling for anything less than experienced, board certified, pediatric critical care physicians is an egregious mistake. For patients, for families, for other physicians in training, and for the community. This institution, one I love with all my heart, will collapse if you don’t reconsider your decision.

I am a board certified pediatrician and would not send my patients to a hospital where they would not receive care from a fellowship trained physician in the PICU.

Children's Mercy has been our hospital of choice for our children when other doctors are at a loss because we trust the experience of the medical team at Children's Mercy. Changing those physicians for less experienced ones breaks our trust.

As a physician, I am concerned that you would sacrifice experience and expertise for money, and be so heartless to your loyal employees

What do you want caring for your sick children or your family’s sick children when they are in need? Training matters.

As a physician and mother of 3 young kids, 2 of whom spent time in the NICU, I’m appalled at the lack of respect for physicians taking care of the most fragile and precious amongst us...Profits before patients never ends well.
