How low do you have to be to try to take away trained professionals away from CHILDREN?

My daughter Stevi was born with HLHS AND Laryngomalacia. She was born at CMH AND had 2 OH surgeries, 2 supraglattoplasties, a Gtube placement, a lung plication, and multiple heart catheterizations. She was so SICK and required the upmost care. She suffered 3 strokes and we really almost lost her. I cannot imagine where we would be or IF she would be here right If not for those amazing, talented, dedicated, exceptionally knowledgeable, HIGHLY experienced PICU Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Drs And nurses!!

At the beginning of July, my son had to have an emergency appendectomy. I can't imagine home not having the best care as his surgeon was so wonderful and put him at ear me ease.

Some of these physicians are treasures- especially those in the PICU. Shame on CMH and AAKC for putting these professionals’ lives in the balance- merely pawns for their own gain.

Does hard work and character and dedication not count in our country anymore ? What is happening is deplorable . If it were not for the dedicated and loving staff at Children’s Mercy our precious granddaughter who spent 13 months of her first 18 mo. of life in the NICU would not be here with us now . This decision is nothing more than criminal !

I understand there’s always a bottom line in business, but how dare you put a price on 40 years of excellence, knowledge, and experience? People take their children to your organization because they feel helpless and scared when their child is ill, and they know that at the hands of these skilled physicians, their child is as safe as they can possibly be. Money isn’t everything. These kids are someone’s entire world, how dare you willingly agree to potentially jeopardize their outcomes in order to make more money. Skilled physicians are priceless. I know as a parent I would not feel confident nor comfortable knowing my child’s life is in the hands of a group of physicians fresh out of the medical womb without the experience and insight this group of skilled Physicians has to offer. They are an absolute asset to your facility and it’s a shame you’d cut ties with them just to make sure execs have pretty pockets. I’m hurt to know my child’s life means that little to the organization who is supposed to support and care for them during the scariest moments of our lives.

I experienced personally the wonders of the physicians and nurses at CMH when my son back in 1991 had gastro esphogal reflux so severe he was losing weight daily. Experienced staff saved his life without having to have a feeding tube. Please keep these expertised physicians and nurses our babies depend on them for survival.

Why is a non profit hospital putting money before the best care of these children?

Our children deserve better than someone trying to line their pockets by trading skilled doctors for newly trained doctors and staff!

We have received nothing but the best care for our son at CMH. We have been so grateful to have this institution in our 'backyard'. It breaks my heart to think of anything changing. Please don't allow us to lose the doctors and nurses we depend upon.
Do the right thing for the PATIENT.
Please keep Children’s Mercy as top rated and phenomenal as they gave always been.
