Physician experience should not be line item cost to be reduced. Your hospital’s sole purpose is saving and improving the lives of sick children. The best way to do that is with trained, experienced PHYSICIANS.
That is not the place to cut costs.
You owe the children better than wholesale replacement of their physicians.

These physicians are some of the most intelligent and compassionate humans I have ever had the privilege of working with. As a pediatrician who trained at Children’s Mercy I have witnessed them save more children than I can count. I know that much of my pediatric education came from these phenomenal physicians. Losing them would not only be a huge disservice to patients in your PICU, but also to kids all over the country who would not benefit from their doctors being trained by the CMH PICU docs.

As a retired emergency physician as well as codirector of helicopter service, I am in awe of the skills and services of those skilled in pediatric intensive care. I was always so relieved when the chopper landed. Those people are priceless if you value children's lives!

My son has been in the PICU on and off due to his heart conditions, the team down there has always been great, especially in the face of crisis. We need to keep them for even the smallest child. They are very much needed!

Prayers and love for the angels that did not but they gave vital information for those that follow.
There can’t be a price on expertise of your staff.

There is no substition for specialize training of Pediatric Anesrhesiologist and Pediatric Intensivist nor is there substitution for years of pediatric clinical experience. Many case studies in healthcare and business demonstrating the value of top notch talent. This will not end well for the public depending upon this hospital for their children's care if this change is allowed to proceed
