I have found AAKC to be professional, knowledgeable, caring, and to put patients above all. I hope Children’s Mercy will Look at long term benefits and give them a chance to do what they do best - take care of people.

You can’t and won’t achieve your goal of being a top 5 Children’s Hospital in the US by eliminating the experienced and innovative staff that got you there. If I were one of these new graduates or younger in my career I would be terrified to come and work in this PICU without more experienced staff to support and train me. Our kids deserve better and so do these physicians and anesthesiologists.

I think that is a regrettable decision. I also worked alongside the anesthesia team for over twenty years. The loss of their high level of skill, particular to the pediatric population, will be immeasurable.

This is hospital administration thinking about numbers only. I get it I am a CPA I love numbers. However, numbers are only part of a story. Shame on the administration

Please reconsider your decision. I worked with many of these people for over 32 years. They are the best and and CMH always had a policy of having the best people possible.

From the fetal health center, to 6 months between the PICU and 4 Sutherland, we will be extremely upset, and likely look for care elsewhere if this change is made based on financial gains. I could write a novel pleading, but I will keep it simple. Please continue to put the lives of our children above financial gain.

There is no dollar amount that can be assigned in calculating the value of experienced and compassionate physicians. They are truly priceless but you might only really know this when it’s your own family member who needs them and it’s too late. Please don’t sell your community short for a few bucks. It’s not worth it.

As a CMH PICU nurse for 15 years, I worked alongside this talented and irreplaceable group of dedicated professionals. I have experienced moments with them in my career that will forever make me proud to have been part of the CMH PICU team. I will always have the highest respect for them, not only as reflected in my role as a nurse, but more importantly as a mother of a child with multiple medical needs. The trust a parent places in their child's anesthesiologist and intensivist can be one of the hardest, most vulnerable situations to be in. This entire group eases those burdens because of their expertise, professionalism, and compassionate dedication to the children placed in their care. I am inspired by their commitment to the children they serve and for the talents and experience they bring to Children's Mercy.
