My son was in the CMH PICU in Dec 2010 and Dr. Chris Hubble was a literal life saver. His care and consideration, and what I saw of how he managed and taught his team gave me immense confidence in the care we received. I'm concerned that the changes you are considering could lead to a change in team and culture that could negatively impact your practice overall.

My son in law is one of the pediatric anesthesiologist with a speciality in cardiac cases. I would trust him completely in any medical crisis. When life is in the balance he is worth every penny.

Personally I know how important it is to have a seasoned PICU staff to serve patients. Please consider keeping this 40 year old practice at Children’s Mercy

We have always elected to have our children’s medical procedures at CMH because we trusted they would provide anesthesiologists with the most experience and highest level of expertise working with children. Ending this contract is a poor decision that I hope they will reconsider. I know I will reconsider where I elect to have my children’s medical procedures completed if this contract is broken.

Two years. That team gave us 2.5 years actually to be accurate. Max passed away after 2.5 years. And I credit that team with that time we had with him. Do better.

Children’s Mercy has put profits over safety and believes they can just find a bunch of fellowship-trained anesthesiologists to fill in for the ones they let go...news flash- physicians, fellowship-trained anesthesiologists have skills and knowledge and do not grow on trees. If my kid gets sick, I’ll be going elsewhere AND I’ll recommend going elsewhere when my friends and parents of my children’s friends look to me (a fellowship trained, board certified anesthesiologist) for advice on where to go and who they should see for whatever ails them. SHAME on these administrators. Our children deserve the best.

If this potion goes through then my best friend won’t have to pick up and move across the country.
