The art and science of medicine requires the experience and training of a seasoned physician in conjunction with the innovation of an early career physician. Medicine does well by having both... there’s an entire reason there is a hierarchy in medicine. If you replace all of you seasoned physicians with few early career physicians and multiple non-physician practitioners because of money... I hope your child doesn’t have to present here

My son goes to them, and has two upcoming surgeries. If he needs to be in a PICU for any reason, I want to feel safe with him there. If not, I can always go to Denver. Your choice, right here.

I am on of your referral sources. Family doc in rural KS. Do not dilute your quality of care with less experienced docs. I don't want to be forced to look for other hospitals for my peds patients.

Children’s Mercy Anesthesiologist’s in addition are actively involved in teaching residents from across Missouri and Kansas. Because of their efforts, wonderful pediatric care is being given all over the country!!

As a parent who has used Children’s Mercy for my children’s surgeries and hospital stays, we will look elsewhere if you get rid of experienced physicians. I can’t imagine having a child in the PICU without experienced physicians or having surgery with a new anesthesiologist. That’s what makes the difference in survival rates.

Experience is not cheap, but it is everything. This is a bad decision for your hospital. Mid-levels CANNOT come close to physician care. But if you want a chance at good faculty, at good mid-levels who know their boundaries, they need to be mentored by doctors with EXPERIENCE? When will hospitals learn that good doctors don't grow on trees and you can't cut corners with people's health? If you are trying to cut costs, look at your bloated management team and start cutting there!

Our children deserve physician lead care! The pediatric ICU takes care of the most vulnerable patients who need the specialized care that ONLY physicians can provide!!!

As a nurse of over 40 years, I've witnessed mant times lives being saved due to experienced staff taking care of patients. Please don't take that away from these children & their families who are at your mercy....

Dear Paul, you will have blood on your hands if you allow this to go forward. PICU patients, of all the patients in the hospital, deserve physician led care. They are the most complex patients in the hospital. Stand down in your decision, or your hospital will be hurt in its reputation and financial outlook.

I will always be in debt to those at children's Mercy NICU and what they did for my son Joshua and his short life here on Earth. He also was on ECMO for a while but they gave us hope throughout it all. Please don't stop that for other families

Prepare for lawsuits! This is absurd and the very definition of presumed profits over quality patient care and negligence. Patients will die, costs will increase due to mismanagement which comes from lack of training and education. Physician driven and led medicine is essential. #educationmatters

My son, while not an ICU patient of CM, is a patient of the Abdominal Pain Program. I can speak from our experience that we have never felt more at home and more cared for than at CM. His medical team that has worked with him have been life savers to our family.
Please reconsider your decision for the sake of the children and families that these doctors have cared for and are caring for. You simply cannot put a price tag on the level of expertise and the sheer love of what they do as these doctors give to their patients and their families.

As a physician, I am horrified that this hospital would fire its established doctor and try to replace them all with mid levels (non-physician staff) and brand new doctors FOR HOSPITAL PEOFIT.
Disgusting. The MBAs again have tried to destroy medicine to increase the revenue i their own pockets, patients be damned.
