As a physician, and a mother, I find this discouraging and reprehensible.

Doesn’t seem like anyone cares about patients anymore. It’s always the bottom line. How much is a child’s life worth?

Anesthesia and Critical Care take care of the sickest and most complex patients. You need physicians with years of training and experience to manage these patients safely.

It takes years of training and education, not months, to care for the sickest of children. Would you trust the care of your child or grandchild who can s critically ill to a nurse practitioner? I wouldn’t.

Although not from your area I feel compelled sign because this is happening nationwide. We pediatricians have to stand up for each other and our worth must be acknowledged. This is a foolish decision and your facility will pay for it in the long run.

J would expect more from a children's hospital - this reflects greed and financial incentives and little regard for the outcomes of sick children. I would send my patients elsewhere

You cannot put a price on well-trained physicians providing quality care. To learn of this is incredibly disheartening, especially in the middle of a pandemic.

In a life threatening intensive care situation, would you rather your child or grandchild be taken care of by an experienced board certified physician or an inexperienced newly graduated physician or nurse practitioner ?
