I worked as a travel nurse in the PICU at Children's Mercy a few years ago & rarely in my 47 years of PICU experience have I encountered the dedication, compassion, experience & care shown not only to the patients & their families, but also to the staff members. They are first rate.

Best and most caring people I have ever met! They truly love the children and staff. Being treated as one of my son's medical team members was very important to my husband and me.

It’s so sad to see an organization ran by a CEO that cares so little about the people that make CMH the amazing place it once was. Unfortunately, many doctors, nurse, etc are leaving due to the fact CMH leaders don’t care about the people/employees anymore. They only care about their money.

I am a Missouri Locum tenens ER doc and this is TERRIBLE! These people should be treasured. They take care of the sickest kids in the state and replacing them with NPs should bring criminal neglect charges

As the wife of a physician at CMH and the parent of a child whose life was saved in the PICU I feel like I have a unique perspective. The staff in the PICU and the Anesthesia team at CMH is unparalleled. They literally brought our daughter back from the brink of death after she fell into septic shock following seven months of chemo treatment. Not only was the team dynamic seamless but the comfort and care we received from the nurses all the way up to the attending physicians was what kept us going in those dark days. As a spouse of a physician, I have to say how disappointed I am at the way this decision was made and then implemented. You have tied the hands of so many people because of their non compete clauses. These people have families with spouses that have careers that are anchored in Kansas City. They have high schoolers they don't want to uproot. But the fact that this was done without warning and then made public almost at the same time is so beneath the ethical standards of CMH. I understand these are unprecedented times for the hospital financially. But to stay afloat financially you need the best doctors. The best doctors stay at places where they are treated with consideration of all the work and care they put in. If morale fails, you are going to lose a lot more than your bottom line. Every department in the hospital has been hit by this because it makes every employee wonder if they are next in line to have the rug swept from out beneath them. If you don't treat your employees like human beings, you will lose them. Please reconsider this decision.

We have had a great experience with the surgery staff that includes anesthesia. It would be a shame to allow this team to leave.

This group provides qualified, exceptional care for our community. I love the reassurance that if one of my kids needs life saving care, Children's Mercy would be there for them. This decision by the hospital is a poor one. This is a team of doctors that have dedicated their time/resources to being the best physicians for our children. They should be compensated well for that. Please reconsider.
