Please consider changing the ordinance to allow chickens and goats. We have lived near neighbors who have them and have had no problems with it. My sister in Templeton has pet chickens (plus the bonus of fresh eggs daily) and also two goats and they are great pets. They also teach the children responsibility in caring for them.

Every surrounding community is aloud to have them so what makes Monogahela any different? Let these Children keep their pets!

Municipalities/towns around us that allow chickens: new eagle, Donora, Monongahela, Bentleyville, Peters township, Mt. Lebanon, Fox chapel, Mccandless... if surrounding communities and more affluent communities allow chickens and haven’t encountered many problems, why not Carroll Township? There is a lot of misinformation regarding backyard chickens, and I hope the township supervisors can be informed of some of the actual facts.

Chickens aren't any more disruptive than cats and dogs. I'd suggest changing the ordinance - maybe ban roosters as a compromise? But it's silly to consider hens a problem.

Leave them alone! Potbelly pigs should also be considered pets because they are not FOOD.

Really those chickens are a great therapy for all those children and teaches how to care for them, collect the eggs each day, takes work to have them and not only that they become pets and it teaches responsibility,
