Keep the Inverness and Aberdeen call centres open as they provide a valuable emergency service operated by staff who have the local knowledge of the area and the people they serve. Just another cost cutting exercise to move everything to the central belt.

Ridiculous to even consider this move. Local knowledge plays a massive part in call centres in the Highlands.

If these call centres are closed and moved south, watch out for big problems with the understanding of the large surrounding areas.

Knowing the area is essential to be able to send response

We need local knowledge when an emergency is being dealt with, we already have bad experience of this with Nhs 24. Staying local means faster response. We have already lost our frontline offices, now struggle to find an officer on duty. Our need is as important and those further South!

Closure in the Notth will be a huge mistake. Local control rooms are essential in Keeping People Safe.

Policing in the north has always presented its own unique challenges, challenges which have been adequately and professionally met by a Police Force and Support staff who had a vast knowledge of the area in which they serve. There is no substitute whatsoever for local and unique knowledge. Staff know the short cuts, the nearest local GP and if he/she is not at home, then where to find them. They know where to obtain support in all circumstances. Our communities on the north still work together - for the community. This is one massive damaging step too far.

When it comes to emergencies, understanding accents and colloquialisms, local knowledge of an area and/or knowledge and intelligence of the subjects involved can sometimes mean the difference between saving a life & losing a life, which will all disappear if centralised.

When you call the police a handler answers in Inverness, this person has local knowledge and an understanding of the Highland area and communities. Please sign this petition-unless you want to talk to someone hundreds of miles away? Thousands of pounds has been spent to revamp the Highland call centres, why close them? Saving money could cost lives.

There are many reasons why they need to stay local and knowing north of Scotland geography is really important to ensure quick dispatch to the correct location

Ridiculous to do this, local knowledge is so important for emergency call
