Call centres need to stay local, if you are needing help quickly you need to be able to speak to someone who knows the local area.

Not from the area but work there. I'm signing this as a symbol of my belief in local call handling for emergency services everywhere. I hope this makes its mark!

This would be a massive mistake and loss to the area. It will affect the service provided.

I signed this because, I once phoned and when asked where I lived and said the name of my ten, I was asked where was that? We need local call centres, and people who know this rural area.

please do not shut the control room. Any experience I have of the control room and service centre here is so positive, local knowledge always wins.. dealt with the ambulance control room and even with the road number, location, east to west, local landmarks they still were asking where we were. You don't get that with local knowledge.

Local control and local jobs are both important. For those of us in the countryside with no street numbers, it is imperative that call centre folks know the geography.

Police Scotland are a shambles - it is going to get much worse after March 2016 if they close these call centres. A. Salmond - his snout still in trough though.
