As an elderly pensioner I feel it is ridiculous to consider reducing the number of local emergency call centres staffed by people who know their local area and who understand the local dialect.

I cant except when I dial 999 or 101 that the person on the other line will have no idea of the area I am in and could delay my emergency service

As we all know, local knowledge and understanding of dialect is the key factor, so important for a speedy response!

Emergency services serve the local community. I find it unbelievable that these call centres are to be closed. Certainly not in the best interests of the communities they serve.

How on earth can anyone in the Central belt know where any towns /villages are situated in the north east. As far as they are concerned the world stops as soon as you cross the river Forth. This is just another example of The SNP not giving any consideration to people in this area.

Like most people I deplore the way that the authorities put control in the central belt. We in the north get a raw deal every time

Centralising call centres is the worst possible outcome for all of us who live north of the central belt. WE cannot have any hope of having a secure way of getting emergency help quickly by local knowledge!

I strongly support the retention of the local control rooms where we have experienced, local staff who know the area better from a geographical perspective

Whoever thought to close these call centres was only interested in saving money and moving another service to the Central belt. It was not to make the community safer as has been shown by recent incidents. The longer the lines of communication are, the greater chance of human error. How many operators in the Central belt have heard of Foggie?

Give us back our local police service. It is far too remote now.

If there is an accident / emergency I would like somebody who at least knows the county to react to my call. Aren't we in danger of having calls ignored as recently happened?. Police in Highlands need to retain respect and trust to work WITH the community .
