I can hardly believe the City Council is considering cutting down the trees. I remember when the trees were planted and how grateful I felt for them, for their beauty and for their shade. Save them!

Removal of these trees would be a huge loss to the beauty and charm of the city of Sonoma. The trees provide shade making walking and shopping along Broadway an enjoyable experience. Thank you.

KEEP THEM and find the money to repair instead of replanting!!!

If the trees must be cut down, then I think they should be replaced with a similar size tree that would be more appropriate for its location. To just cut them down is, at the very least, disrespectful.

It takes a long time for a tree to get as big as these. To cut them down because the concrete is cracking is ridiculous. Please come to your senses!

What gorgeous and lush trees line upper Broadway. They improve and beautify the neighborhood and Sonoma. Don't remove the trees. Thank you for the petition. Hope it works.

Trees provide cooling shade & shelter for birds. Replace uprooted concrete, with gravel, do periodic root pruning, install root barriers.

The city should be ashamed that they are trying to get RID of nature instead of coveting it.

I can't understand why people cut down any trees. The trees on Brodway provide beauty, oxygen and shade to help cool all the concrete. Tourists come to see the country, not another concrete jungle. They are healthy, please don't KILL them. They are living organisms. Please don't

Sidewalks are replaceable in short order, these trees should not be removed.

I absolutely think the trees should and the city should maintain the maitenance for side walk repairs

It would be a great disservice to the town to remove these shade-offering trees. Their beauty adds to the charm ramping up to the plaza and helps businesses share in some of the nature other merchants enjoy being directly *on* the plaza. Please don't cut them down! Also, Towns who let their their trees grow up around wires and allow sidewalks to crack have better real estate values. Check both Mill Valley and Ross. Then look at Terra Linda, where they cut down trees for sport. Finally, we walk this little stretch sometimes on my Gourmet Food & Wine Tours and the shade is key in the hot Sonoma Sunshine. Respectfully, Renee ReBell
