Trees need our protection. If you need reminding, look to the redwoods--less than 4% remaining. Trees oxygenate and cleanse the air, provide habitat for birds, and sustain our spirits with their beauty in all seasons. Sonoma has a uniquely lovely town center, due in large part to. . . the trees!

It took a long time & a lot of water to grow these beautiful trees, concrete sidewalks are a lot easier to fix,

The city, not businesses, should be responsible for maintaining these beautiful trees and the sidewalks. The shade and ambience the trees provide cannot be replaced.

Preserve these trees and plant more on the other side of town. From the air Sonoma looks like two types of ecology.

The Sonoma City Council has enough money in its general fund to effect repairs on offending locations of said sidewalks that they never paid for to begin with.

Please do not remove these trees! Change the law. The city should be responsible for any repairs and maintenance. They are beautiful, provide shade and are a valuable life form that should be respected and cared for.

As a former Broadway business owner, I can add my perspective to this preservation project. The trees contribute so much to the community. Let's take care of them as they mature. Thank you.

Yes, we must keep those beautiful trees. Maybe the city council could have a fundraiser to help pay for the sidewalks.
