A walk along the railway line in the summer and winter was always pleasurable, peaceful and an escape from the concrete, tarmac and traffic around Wickham. Having the shade of overhanging trees on a sunny day when taking my baby son out in the backpack was brilliant as he loves looking at the trees and was protected from the glare of the sun. Thank you Hampshire County Council for ruining a wonderful place.

I enjoy walking in the areas where nature is close at hand and not something that looks like a motorway for pedestrians. There is something magical about walking amongst the plants and having the insects an arm’s reach away. How can a child get to understand nature if the nearest they can get to a plant is to stare up an embankment at it instead of reaching out and touching or smelling it. As a child I adored the cosy feeling of being surrounded by trees and plants, and I don’t intend to stop feeling it just because I am an adult.

Having worked as a BHS Ride Leader, escorting rides of up to 10 people I would like to stress how vital bridleways are. Our roads are so busy and preserving and creating bridleways where riders can safely exercise their horses is an urgent need. Please do not destroy such an important bridleway in an area where there are few safe places to take horses. This is important not just for horse riders but other road users.

Stop this work before any more damage is done . The beauty and peace of the walk is now ruined and the resurfacing an expensive waste of money..

If the work carried out on the path facing St Nicholas church is anything to go by the path will be completely ruined. You now have a "wonderful" view of the traffic!

A terrible amount of damage done by those supposed to be looking after the countryside on our behalf. This must be stopped and measures taken to prevent it happening in the future.

Avery reasonable request especially in time of austerity when public money should be spent fairly and wisely. This is a valuable resource to all users!!

just look at the state of how they have left that!! How awful does that look! it looks more like a long path to a construction site!

i find it disgraceful that they plan to ruin something so precious to many people. No doubt those who want it changed don't even realise how much it will be missed and how much disruption it will cause if so. I having been using it to train on for the London marathon- I hope I still can in years to come!!!!

This is a rural and beautiful area, a piece of history. As conservation is a principal part of the remit for the SDNPA, this does not make sense.
