The Meon Valley railway line is a safe haven of off road riding for many, many local horse riders. The compacting of the surface is not only detrimental to the horses legs and feet, it will also increase the speed that cyclists are able to go, which is also a safety issue for us riders. we have all coexisted quite happily for many years with all the other users of the line.. These latest works are not an improvement for the many, current users.

i am a young horse rider (still at school) and am not aloud to hack out as much as I would like because of all the main roads and bridle ways being taken away due to more development. This is one place I am aloud because both me and my horse are free to ride along here safely as possible!

Surely Tarmac would increase potential flooding risks?

We need to preserve our countryside, not everywhere needs covering in tarmac! Horses need softer surfaces

It's one of the few places for people to ride safely. Please keep it so.

As it stands, there are very few places to ride off-road in the Meon Valley. Please keep this bridleway a pleasant place for riders!!

The changes you are making are not for the good of the equestrian users or the safety of any users

I am a disabled person but do not wish to wheelchair nor mobility scooter along this Bridleways/Trail. I do support family and friends who are horse riders as they have few places to ride off-road. It seems to me that it is being made into a public road to access the South Downs, is this what is surreptiously being done by Hampshire County Council or whatever Authority is responsible? A great deal of money is being spent - on a Trail

this stretch of line is beautiful! it is well loved and used by many- resurfacing will destroy its character and make it unfit for use by many of the people who currently get great pleasure from it!
I have cycled, walked, run and ridden the railway line and never had a complaint about the old surface. Compacted aggregate will not provide a surface on which I would choose to carry out any of these pursuits, least of all riding which is first and foremost what this route is designated for.

This is one of the only safe bridle ways in this area and should be maintain so it remains citable for horse riders as well as other non-motorized users

There are very few bridleways in the area and it is important to keep this one
