i enjoy walking my dogs on the disused railway line as it was, not as it is now, it ruins the ambience of the countryside.

The current surface is fine for riders, walkers and cyclists, so why"improve" it?

With so few bridle ways we need to keep the safe ones we have

dont ruin the bridleway. It's one of the very few remaining riding paths inthe area

The surface will make it unuseable for horse riders who already have limited bridle ways. The track is wide enough to split it for riders and wheelchair/buggie access.

There fewer and fewer safe places to ride these days. Putting hard surface on the railway line will mean more quad bikes, trail bikes and trotters going at speed putting not only horses and riders but also cyclists and pedestrians at risk. This line is a wonderful local resource for horse riders to access off road hacking and it will be lost forever if the work continues as it is. The North part of the line was resurfaced a few years ago and it has never been the same.

it would be such a shame if this is wasted by putting a hard surface down.

putting a hard surface on the disused railway will ruin this amazing facility for manuy users. Yes it gets wet but surely there are other non hard surface options so riders and cyclists and fog walkers can enjoy it in a more natural way rather than an urban solution that does not fit with the rural location and surely does not meet the diused railway line users needs. Please re-think.

The proposed surface is just not suitable for a bridleway

Work started without consulting local riders as to safety & suitable surface

I understand the surface is not Tarmac but scalpings which are due to be rolled which will give a similar effect. This will be hard on horses feet and legs. Cyclists who already do great speeds along there will go faster. Which will be hazardous for families children and equestrians.
