There are hardly any safe off road places to ride our horses we have been using the old railway for over 25 years. People box their horses from miles away to enjoy riding on that old railway line the hard surface is not horse friendly.

Horse riders need some where safe to ride too. I have been riding on the railway line for over 30 years. There is such a focus these days on cyclist but it is dangerous for horse riders. And the whole lets educate cyclists does not work with everyone. The forestry is so busy now we need to keep at least some of the railway line slightly more rural . I suggest this should be North from Mislingford. That accommodates everyone.

cannot believe they have done this without consultation. We lose bridle way after bridle way forcing us to ride on the busier roads, now this beautiful ride that I feel safe for my 10 yr old son to hack along and enjoy his pony

I have ridden on this line for the last 21 years and a paved path is not good for horses legs. and I also walk my dogs along it too.

Please don't urbanise a beautiful stretch of the Meon Valley - I'm sure there is something more productive and meaningful that this money could be spent on. As a mountain biker I like the current surface, I do not want to be cycling down a paved road!!!

One of the best places to hack, cycle, walk along. There is no reason to resurface it, it was perfectly fine the way it was before. Please don't ruin it, because you will destroy nature as well as a good off roading place.

We are not wanted on roads and paths, we are not alowd on public footpaths and many parks, so when we find a BRIDLEWAY we cherish it and respect that others use it for cycling and walking... why must it be taken away when Horse Riders have so little free space. We don't all have transport to take them to the gallops. Maintain the surface and drainage of course, but leave the integrity of the countryside alone and preserve our Bridleway.

The railway is such a nice place to hack in other than walk it would be a huge shame to loose it.

As an area of recreation for both horses and humans it is essential that the surface suits all. Stones can harm horses feet & are not ideal for cyclists either. The local community should be considered during this process.

As someone who walks and rides horses and bikes down the old railway line I am most anxious that the surface of the railway line is suitable for all the people who use it. Stones that hurt horses feet are not suitable.
