What an absolute outrage that the Council should cause such devastation to our much loved and only safe place for us to ride, totally undemocratic for the Council to act unilaterally wasting what I understand to be hundreds of thousands of pounds of taxpayers money when nothing needed to be done to the railway track, it was fine as it was. So many beautiful trees lost, habitat, flora and forna, all lost for what? Where is the Southdowns National Park in all this. Are they not there to protect such sites.. I trust they will be at the meeting to ensure no more damage is caused and that nothing further is done to the surface, it is a bridleway and the surface must primarily be suitable for horses. What consultations did the Council undertake before embarking on this destructive course of action.

With all the commercial traffic now on our country lanes we need more off road riding for equestrians

It's absolutely heartbreaking to see a natural, magical place become a minefield!

This is wrong and should not be happening it's history that is being messed with and people enjoy the untouched wildlife and scenery I loved walking / biking along here for me to come back home and seethe transformation would be destroying.

Hi! I am just a Univerisity student studying Zoology, but at this moment in time I am currently writing up a Ecological Impact Assessment which is part of the bigger Environmental Impact Assessment for an area in Cambridge. One of these needs to be done for any type of development to see if it will have an effect on the local flora and fauna in the area. I was thinking about writing an email to the council or who ever is in charge to see if they have carried out a scoping exercise (the part where they see if it will have an effect). I have lived near the railway line my whole life and I would hate to see it ruined. I am going to post this on the Facebook group page once I get accepted :)

i regularly ride my pony on the railway line with my daughter and granddaughter, unfortunately the surface is now too hard for my pony's feet, I am also concerned about meeting pony and traps on there. Very disappointed.
