There already seems to be a very reasonable solution to this situation, i.e., relocate the remaining turkeys the farm which has been suggested. It's only right that a problem created by human actions be resolved by human actions which consider the turkeys and their will to survive.

The turkeys are harmless and beautiful creatures. I so enjoy watching them. Please do not harm them or relocate them.

Although euthanasia is a humane death -- better than many "pest" control methods -- the turkeys needn't receive anything but a peaceful life at this point. If they have recently become a "nuisance," it is human behavior that needs to be modified (e.g. not feeding etc) -- and not the turkeys' presence -- first and foremost.

The turkeys are a great focal point! Why destroy one of the only surviving animals in our area. I don't consider them a nuisance.

I am against euthanizing these turkeys. They were trapped and were they killed humanely. DNR is really out of control killing any animals that are accused of being a nuisance. Let them live!!!!!!

Why did the neighborhood wait until such huge numbers of turkeys before asking for help from the wildlife people? So we just added wild turkeys to our list of "nuisance" animals. In the 3 1/2 yrs I have lived here, I have seen armadillos, coyotes, and gators added to the list already containing feral hogs. Right now in Bluffton, forests are being cleared so someone can get rich selling the land. Does anyone have a solution for where the creatures who live on that land and have for many yrs supposed to go? If you don't love and respect these animals, please move to New York or Chicago and live in a critter-free condo!

Had no prior knowledge the issue had escalated to euthansia and have concerns that a very few are making decisions without the knowledge and support of the community.

No one ever ever said anything about killing the turkeys. Are we now putting ourselves above God's creations? The deer eat our flowers, are you going to kill them too? Please don't. I would rather lose a few flowers. Let's please be the kind of neighbors we portray to the public; kind, caring and nonjudgmental to one another and our God's creatures.

The slaughter of innocent turkeys in our neighborhood was the wrong thing to do.The male turkey had to be provoked to follow cars.
