The person who used Teddy Roosevelt as an example should also note that Mr. Roosevelt was a big game hunter who is credited with the trapping and shooting of over 11,000 animals. Many of these animals are endangered.
Cullings and open hunting seasons for over populated animals is very common.

This is their home too! Every time an animal that had existed in a place long before us becomes a nuisance, we just kill it? We have so called "More Intelligence" that should give us the power to solve problems in a civil way. Not just blast things off the face of the earth because we're too lazy to come up with a better plan. Get it together. USE YOUR BRAIN.

you do realize that ya'll just love to watch animal documentaries and want animals in their habitat to be saved globally, then some assholes say JUST NOT ON MY DOORSTEP. this attitude is what is a very destructive one. if you build in turkey land, accept you're going to have to LIVE in turkey land!

I have lived in the crescent for 10 years and have NEVER thought these unique creatures have ever caused a problem. Now if you want to talk true damage, what about relocating the deer who bring disease and yard destruction....

I live with turkeys both wild and farm bred in my local area with no issue. Please relocate these birds instead of euthanizing them.

It's a shame that our lives have become so "manicured" and removed from nature that we can't let a rafter of turkeys do what turkeys do. I love seeing them and think they add character and uniqueness to our community.

Not too long ago we had problems with Canadian Geese on the island from people feeding them and they caused havoc as they were for the most part near the Sea Pines circle and would wonder out into the road with on coming traffic. I love wild life of all kinds but those geese made a lot of noise, mess, and traffic snarls. I think we should practice coexisting with nature but not feed and entice them to live in our yards, on our cars, for the same reason that park rangers ask you not to feed the bear or at every park with water in Beaufort county there is a sign saying Do Not Feed / Harass the Alligators and DNR asks boaters to not feed the dolphins in truth to protect the animal as much if not more than the humans. Would I want a bunch of turkeys running loose where I live. No. But I would not feed them most likely photograph them and I would not encourage them to take up domicile where I live. There are a lot of places in Beaufort County I would think would be suitable for turkeys to live or maybe on some of our uninhabited islands around but I am no expert at relocating a large number of birds.
