He is a good man and from my experience he was passionate for student success. It would be a great loss to the business school as well as the university if a decision to oust him stands.

If all you're looking for in college academics is an easy grade to get through, do not sign. If you are looking for a challenge, and discipline in a class environment taught with high intellectual stimulating lectures, please do yourself a favor and sign to keep this great professor with us at UTD. That way you do not become one of the many unemployed Americans with a college degree.

My name is Chad and I had the privilege of studying under Dr. Lewis at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Lewis taught me in a business administration capstone course while I worked towards my international business degree. After wrestling at OSU for two years, I decided to hang up my wrestling shoes and enter into the business realm. By my senior year, I owned two companies. Under Dr. Lewis tutelage I was able to grasp aspects of business that I had never even considered. Dr. Lewis' business administration course was one of the only courses that I genuinely enjoyed attending in all of my academic career. His course was the only one that I actually learned something pertaining to the actual business world outside of vocabulary/definitions. I was perplexed to hear that UT Dallas would even consider releasing an asset like Dr. Lewis. Not only was he my professor, he was also a role model in how passionate he was about education. I knew that if I could put my heart into something as much as he puts his heart into his students I knew I would succeed with ease. I'm not sure how much this letter will do but I at the least want to let UT Dallas know about the direct impact Dr. Lewis' had on my life and molding me into the father and business man I am today. Dr. Lewis is an amazing teacher! Because of a project I did in his class, I got my job. It's outrageous that he is facing dismissal!!
To put it simply Dr.Lewis was my inspiration to stay involved with the UT Dallas community rather than being like many of the other students at UTD and go to class and then home. He guided me to find new opportunities and how to really take advantage of everything that UTD has to offer.

UTD's method of evaluation is not what I would expect from the university. It contains a fundamental flaw. Professors without standards whom replace final exams with pizza parties get higher ratings, but the value of the education they provide is at an all time low. The same is true for professors who hold their students to higher standards and dont get as high of ratings from student evals. I believe the dismissal of Dr. Lewis would not only set back the OBHR and BA program back 2 years, but it would also deminish the professional relationship Dr. Lewis has made with companies and organizations in the Dallas area

Dr. Lewis is not only an exceptional professor, but a role model. Leading people, like me, to find our true calling. He's exceptional, and every student deserves to have a class with him - it changed my life, it could change others!

I think he is an amazing professor who not only had a great class but honestly cares about the students and gives life advice as well. He deserves to stay because of all the reasons listed. I agree with this petition 100%.
