Bermuda's Bee population was down 65% as of last year, and according to Harvard University and University of Buenos Aires in Argentina, the cause has been found. Neonicotinoids, and Glyphosate-the active ingredient in Roundup-, are killing our Bees. Many of our farmers use these pesticides; as well as Government, who sprays our roadsides with Roundup. These types of pesticides/herbicides are synthetic chemicals, and are responsible for Bee Colony Collapse. Our local farmers, our home gardeners, and our Tourism industry can not afford to lose what Bees we have remaining. Imagine not having any of the beautiful flowers we have blanketing our island, imagine the possibility of never again being able to buy local produce at an affordable cost(as hand pollination costs much more), and imagine never being able to grow a home garden again. If we act now, imagine is all we will have to do. Please help save our Bees and sign this petition.

Action Petitioned:

We propose the Government of Bermuda; the OBA, considers banning any products with Neonicontinoids, Glyphosate, or similar type of chemicals from import to the Island of Bermuda immediately.

Bermuda should be a leader in this, not lagging behind. Toxic chemicals have no place here.

If we lose the bees we lose the island. Simple as that.

Our island is too small to be poisoning the land like this. Stop spraying the roadsides now!
