Home owners and business owners should be held accountable for not bear proofing their property. If the bears can't find food they will go somewhere else to look.

Individuals (not cabin owners as we have no control over visiting public) should be legally held accountable for non compliance of regulations and laws and there should be clear laws about litter and trash or food responsibilities regarding bears.

Save the BEARS!! Stop feeding them! Enforce trash containers! Make fines high and please enforce them.

We were just there 2 weekends ago and the behaviors by other tourists and local businesses was APPALLING. $50 is not enough of a fine for people paying thousands to visit the area or businesses making huge amounts of money. I have photos of people in Cades Cove (not Gatlinburg, I know) less than THIRTY (!!!) feet away from a yearling bear taking pictures. Absolutely unacceptable and the behaviors won’t stop unless there are greater financial and legal consequences.

The one's over TWRA need fired. It's ridiculous killing these bears instead of trying to save them. It seems like they go against anything using common sense and they're only in it for a paycheck not to help animals. TWRA IS DISGUSTING.

As a life long resident of East Tennessee, I've seen how repeated negligence by local leaders has led to animal cruelty of our black bears. Bears earn billions for the tourism industry and boost tax revenues. It's past time bears were protected by the people that benefit from their presence.

I’m not from the Great Smokey Mountains , however it’s my favorite place to visit due to the beauty and nice locals . I too agree there needs to be punishment to people who put the bears lives in danger , local , or tourist . Stiff penalties , use that money too improve life for the bears
