A vibrant city is a city that reflects all and every style of architecture from the past for future generations. Unfortunately Cape Town has lost much of its architectural heritage particularly on the Atlantic seaboard due to crass developments.

Is this what we are voting for?? One of these days there will be no history in the Western Cape - or anywhere else for that matter! All in the name of greed!

Gary, I've actually done the necessary research and checked the facts. I have more than a keen interest in heritage homes. Do you not find it strange that the starters of this petition (Oliver and Ann Nurock) just happen to live directly behind the house in question? Do you think that they get involved with other such heritage issues that have absolutely no impact on them? I'd be interested to know..

I am absolutely appalled that SA Heritage could give the green light for this beautiful old house to be demolished.

I definately agree. The saddest thing is that they will knock down this beautiful lady before all plans are in place. surely they have to get permision for the plans for construction. What if there is objections and the house is gone.

DA densification policy, politicians and burocrats listening to the party leaders and not the voters/rate payers. May it soon come to haunt you.

These lovely old places could easily come alive with some care. We could create a most wonderful environment for this generation and all those to come!

Because such significant heritage houses should be preserved for the nation. They are part of SA's history.

To destroy 121 years of heritage is short-sighted. Why does local government always seem to do what the rich developers want?
