The approval to demolish this heritage house is quite incomprehensible. All members of the Belcom com committee of Heritage Western Cape should hang thier heads in shame. They do not deserve to have anything to do in future with preserving the heritage of the Cape. They appear intent on destroying the vital legacy we should be passing on to the coming generations. Shame on them!

Cape Town's Heritage Management Dept are perfectly capable of making well considered decisions of this type in collaboration with local residents. Heritage Western Cape should concentrate on Municipalities with less resources.

It is time that Heritage Western Cape perform their function and change the way they do their business and start preserving our older buildings. We are custodians of the past to preserve the past for the future. A society without a past has no future. What legacy do we leave for future generations.
