Heritage Western Cape must be beyond suspicion. Their decisions should follow legislated procedure and be transparent. Their primary function is the protection of our heritage. We should be confident that Heritage Western Cape officials are too.

It is of vital importance that our old heritage buildings are protected - they are a non renewable resource - a gift from our forefathers that we need to protect for all future generations. The building is of noteworthy character and one of a handful of almost unadulterated old buildings still left in Greenpoint. It serves as an important anchor in conserving the heritage character of the area. It is really extremely disappointing that HWC - Heritage Western Cape - who are supposed to be the custodians of our heritage - are assisting the short term profit driven developers with the getting their way and have given a demolition permit....Shame on them!!!

It is shocking to destroy our heritage, considering it is still in such good condition and still has so many of the original features. Rather maintain it and even fill with furnishings from that era so people can visit, especially school children. Please don't demolish this building

Another tragedy, another piece of our heritage about to be obliterated. I have absolutely no faith in HWC and the City for that matter to do the right thing. Ask yourself, why are the civics constantly battling the system. Well here is another example as to why.
