I know for me this will be a deterrent to going downtown. I think it will have a detrimental impact on businesses in the downtown core as well.

I use these parking garages all the time. They are good incentives to go downtown.

I have always felt the free hour was a goodwill gesture, a respectful gift, and a very much appreciated convenience that we have utilized often, Several times it has been an influence in our decision as to whether we'd make the trip downtown or to the waterfront for a meal or event! It truly made a difference.

If we want to save our downtown, it is absolutely necessary to have at least one hour free parking. It should be no parking fees at all; isn't there any other way to keep people shopping downtown. When we were kids, going downtown was such a treat.

I commute. This affects me even though I'm not a resident. It's small, but still a deterrent. I'm already visiting less often, there is a comfort in knowing you're not in a rush to get back to your car within the proper quarter increment. And to be able to drop in for lunch somewhere without worrying about change for parking is again, a small, but still big, difference.

I think it's a worthwhile incentive for use of the downtown core.

Taking away this 1 hour free parking is going to hurt business as well as the elderly.

Leave the one hour of free parking alone. Don't we pay enough??
