I agree with Mr. Elliott whole heartedly with his statements. Also for the out of town shoppers who come to downtown Windsor this helps as a drawing card to promote downtown shopping. The city of Windsor has been hit hard enough do not add any more hardship.

We need free parking in the downtown core if we want to fight urban sprawl and big box stores which much of City Council seems to support. I will never vote for Drew Dilkens again.

It should be left the way it is now the city doesn't need any more money from paid parking no one will use it if you start charging

This is important for the downtown merchants. The Malls may price the parking into their leases but, their lessees have the advantage of having parking close to their establishments. Or at the very least, a covered concourse so they are out of the elements. Downtown patrons don't have that convenience. The downtown core should be a priority to the City of Windsor. Have you noticed the empty storefronts downtown? Every other city that has made efforts to improve the convenience and experience of visiting their downtown core has seen vibrant and thriving businesses. One hour of free parking, and publicizing that fact would go a long way to help the struggling downtown merchants and ensure a vibrant core.

Stop scamming the citizens. Lots of people don't even carry change or even have it and are stuck.

Please use common sense. Why are you deterring people from coming downtown? You arent Chicago or some major tourist place that can pull this off! Get over yourselves quick Windsor!

Please stop the hostility to what is left of the downtown and other non-suburban districts. The parking situation is highly prejudicial against retail and professional services in downtown, while giving a huge break to the entertainment sector. All the while failing to provide high quality public transit options to the down town that would offset the parking situation. There is no strategy or plan here!

1st hour free parking is the reason I am able to give my money to support downtown businesses. I stopped shopping on Ottawa because the stores don't offer free parking.

How do you expect business in the core to thrive without adequate free parking that businesses elsewhere in the city have access to?!

Taking away a good thing certainly doesn't make you hints better in the downtown core. Why is city council trying so hard to destroy downtown and move everything out o suburbs.

This is ridiculous . it's already expensive enough if you need to park 5 days a week in the downtown area. This free hour helps a lot .

You're making our life harder . Everything is getting too expensive. It is horrible to do so . Stop it .. Think about others who are struggling to manage the costs of living with low income .
