I used that parking lot several times a week and I'm very thankful for the one hour free parking I think it should stay as it is

There should be free parking...PERIOD. It's the heart of our city, and you seem to want people to NOT visit.

I will not frequent downtown as much for my shopping needs without the hour of free parking.

Sometimes I just want a quick run to a downtown business. If I had to pay to park in the garages, I'd likely just not bother. I'm on a budget. Every penny counts. Please keep the free parking!

The free 1 hour helps me to come downtown to do lunch. I always end up spending longer than an hour, so I do end up paying. But that hour helps.

To increase parking rates would only make sense if downtown was overcrowded with cars. This will only harm small businesses downtown which will further reduce demand for parking.

I THINK THAT THE CITY OF WINDSOR WANTS ALL OF US "MA-PA- MERCHANTS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS....FOLD UP AND LEAVE THE DOWNTOWN As a downtown merchant, our store has been in this location for 79 years, I advertise the "Park for 1 Hour Free" and then give my customers a token to use in the garage or street meters. These tokens can be purchased at the DWBIA offices and my customers really appreciate them. I do all I can to promote Downtown as a safe and friendly shopping alternative. If "1 Hour Free Parking in the Garages" is taken away from us, the merchants will suffer. We already have to compete against the free parking all day at the various malls in the city. In some areas of the city, Wyandotte street for instance, there are no meters and signs announcing 2 hour free parking, on Wyandotte in front of stores and restaurants etc. Why do they have free parking 2 hours and Ouellette Ave does not? I pay our City Property Taxes on 5 downtown buildings. Give me some "bang for my buck" and let customers, tourists and residents enjoy the benefits of my tax dollars. No 1 HR free parking will destroy what's left of downtown Windsor. You can count me out of going downtown for business.

Getting rid of the one hour free parking will even further reduce traffic into the city downtown core.

This is absurd. This city pisses me off!
