I don't go downtown often, mainly due to the parking. This garage is where i park everytime for that reason.

I love visiting Windsor's downtown, be it for a stroke, to grab a coffee, or to patronize one of the few shops that are left. Our downtown needs all of the help it can get. Please make it easier for people to visit our downtown Windsor by maintaining free one hour parking. Thank you.

Because the City should care about supporting local businesses in the City Centre year round at least as much as hit-and-run one-time-only sports tourism

I love Windsor, born and bread here. I remember when we had a downtown with shops and even the old Steinburgs Mall. Now I have been told by out of towners that we no longer have a downtown. There is nothing there but a few shops, bars and restaurants. Our downtown needs to be recreated to bring new vitality and life to it. As it stands, the one reason I don't mind going down there is because parking is so reasonable. Now that you have taken away the one hour free parking, I had to pay $2.25 to park for just one hour in the Pelissier Parking garage. I am not knocking this city but unlike other cities, we have lost our downtown to the subburbs. It's running a fine line of becoming a red light district, not worthy of family involvement. You can debate with me on this one but just ask people from other cities they know we have no downtown to speak of. Lets not beat this up, lets find a way to revitalize it. If you don't let us have the incentives to park downtown then I know we won't be visiting down there much.

As someone who works in the downtown core, I feel the one hour of free parking encourages people to come downtown. It is a nice perk.

The first hour free for parking is necessary for residents and visitors alike. It's like courtesy gesture to come downtown and "Visit us, we are friendly and invite you with our one hour free parking."

Keep first house free in parking garages please! As a young woman in this city I often am fearful of walking the downtown area at night to my car and the garages are a blessing when making short trips.

The current council has bought into knowing that cost of everything and the value of nothing. Whatever it takes to bring business to downtown is worth the investment. If the Downtown Business Association could go it alone I would recommend it. The current city council is so disconnected from reality that they would be a liability if they got involved . Go it alone and you will be far more successful. For God sakes do not let the mayor touch your business. He is the light weight of the century when it comes to nurturing any business in the city.

With the first hour free discount I park longer without it I will drop someone off and pick up later and there will be no parking to be paid at all

Leave the one hour free as is. So many people have to do banking, run into lawyer and accountant's offices, attend to things at City Hall, etc. for brief periods of time. Seriously, just leave it alone.

Anything to increase interest in the downtown area. The merchants could certainly use the help!

If you want our downtown to survive, please save the one hour free parking. Otherwise everything will go to pots!!!

This would be a retrograde step, given the progress that is being made in revitalizing downtown.

This makes it very hard for store owners downtown. We use free parking when we go out to dinner and for stores downtown. You need to draw people in, not give them an incentive to choose the malls and the suburbs.
