I only go downtown to visit Dr. Disc. I use the garage for parking. Sometimes I'm there under an hour, sometimes a little more. If you take the parking away, many people such as myself will reconsider going. Downtown is dying as it is, and how you're going to take one of the only good things away? I don't get it. First no arena downtown, then this?

If the city illiminates the one hour free parking then people will definitely not go downtown. We need the one hour free parking. Amherstburg has parking spots that are 2 hours free. There downtown is always so busy, lots to see and do there; not like downtown Windsor.

The free 1 hour parking is a great incentive in attracting people to the downtown core. It seems like the City (or whomever is responsible for these decisions) is working against the downtown businesses, removing the free hour AND increasing parking meter fares. There is no wonder the majority of units downtown are empty. I anticipate that this action will further contribute to more and more empty units in our downtown core. Does anyone remember when downtown was the place to be??? Someone needs to dig up the old photographs and appreciate all that it was and could still be.

It's good business to have a free one or two hours parking

This was a great convenience for quick stops downtown. I am a tax paying citizen who would prefer a regular small increase in property taxes as opposed to taking away services.

I utilize the parking garages downtown often and it will make me find other places to shop. There is no increase in value in downtown just added expense. Give the retail trade a break and support them

The first hour of free parking draws us to downtown events and shopping.

Free one hour parking is a real perk to get people downtown - please keep it going!

downtown has been hit hard and is still suffering. Give them a break. People will go where they can get free parking rather than park and have to walk great distances to get to the stores.

This is a commodity of Windsor's downtown. In favor of saving the 1 hour free parking.

This needs to be saved. Parking is already over priced in the city.

Parking rates are too high and losing the free hour means less money to spend at merchants. They also need to post on every meter (like used to be done) the days and times they are enforced. I know I have fed them only to find out that it is past the enforcement time.
